Group B Strep (GBS) can harm your baby in the womb, but there are ways to keep him or her safe.
- Get tested for GBS at your prenatal visit.
- If you have GBS, plan ahead. If you live far from where you will deliver talk to your doctor, because it takes four hours for antibiotics to work.
- Let your doctor know if you are allergic to any antibiotics such as penicillin.
