Chrissy Teigen's Slow-Cooked Scrambled Eggs Recipe Is Worth Every Minute Breakfast Brunch Lunch Gluten-free Budget Recipes
If you follow me on 30Seconds, you know I really appreciate a quick recipe that's easy and tastes great. So I was slightly skeptical to read about Chrissy Teigen's slow-cooked scrambled eggs recipe. I mean, 15 to 20 minutes for eggs? But, I've tried other recipes from this mega-star mom and she is an amazing cook, so I thought it was well worth the try on a weekend morning.
I'm here to tell you they were the best scrambled eggs I've ever eaten. This egg recipe is creamy and light, and because of the added cream and herbs, tastes amazing. It's a very simple recipe, but it does require some patience while waiting for the eggs to set. Feel free to get creative with any additions to the fluffy, creamy eggs that you might like. We kept it pretty simple and then served the eggs with fresh sourdough avocado toast!
To make Chrissy Teigen's eggs for breakfast, for a larger brunch or even breakfast for dinner, here's what you will need: eggs (read about the health benefits of eggs), whole milk or cream and butter for the pan. If you like cheesy eggs, grab some Parmesan cheese, too, and don't forget salt and black pepper. Share you thoughts about these eggs in the comments section below!

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 to 20 minutes
Total Time: 20 to 25 minutes
Servings: 3
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 2 - 3 tablespoons whole milk or cream
- 1 tablespoon butter, for pan
- 1 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (optional)
- Parmesan cheese, grated, to taste (optional)
- salt and fresh black pepper, to taste
Recipe Notes
- In the summer, we get our eggs at the farmers market and they are gorgeous!
- For some spice, sprinkle in some crushed red pepper flakes or some ground cayenne pepper.
Here's how to make it:
- Place milk or cream in a small saucepan on low. Add fresh herbs, if you are using. (I used fresh thyme, parsley and a bit of rosemary.)
- Place a medium frying pan on your stove on low. Break the eggs into a medium bowl.
- Use a frother or wire whisk to break the yolks and whip the eggs. You want to take plenty of time on this step to make sure the eggs have bubbles on the top and are completely combined. Don't rush this step!
- Add your warm cream and herbs and a pinch of salt and pepper. Give the eggs another good stir.
- Melt the butter in a frying pan and pour the egg mixture on top when the butter has completely melted. Use a rubber spatula or scraper to stir the eggs and keep them from sticking.
- Continue to stir eggs every now and then, gently turning them over as the bottom cooks. You don't need to constantly stir but gently scrape the bottom to turn it over and continue to cook.
- When the eggs are beginning to get firm, add grated cheese, if using.
- Remove the eggs from the heat when they are cooked to the firmness you desire. Taste to see if more salt and pepper is needed.
- Serve with your favorite accompaniments like toast, biscuits or drizzled with hot sauce or sprinkled with crushed red pepper flakes.
