Hailey Bieber’s Signature Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe Is a Model of Perfection Appetizers Poultry Air Fryer Recipes Dinner Snacks

Most of us probably know Hailey Bieber for her modeling and her trendy fashion, accessories and manicure choices (and for being married to Justin Bieber, of course). Or maybe you know her for the social media drama (mainly related to Justin’s ex, Selena Gomez). But did you know that Hailey also has a YouTube series called What’s In My Kitchen? sponsored by Hex Clad?

If you follow the model and/or watch celebrity cooking shows, you’ll enjoy watching her make her favorite recipes, including protein coffee, smoothies, chocolate chip pancakes, pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread, made with her mom and nana!) and her go-to crispy, air-fried chicken wings. According to the cook and host, she created the wings’ signature buttermilk marinade and a spicy Japanese barbecue sauce. If you had your doubts about Hailey’s cooking skills, this may change your mind!

In one of her episodes, the model (looking far more put-together and accessorized than I do in the kitchen!), rolled her sleeves up and got to work on her signature wings. While the chicken wing recipe is fairly simple, note that it requires two hours of marinating time and about 30 minutes of air-frying time. So this is not your quickest chicken wing recipe. However, you may agree with the positive commenters on the YouTube video and find that the delicious wings are totally worth it!

Recipe Notes

  • When using your air fryer, do not spray the basket itself.
  • Great served with sriracha sauce.

Here’s how to make it:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together buttermilk and all dry marinade ingredients until combined. Add chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat. Refrigerate the wings in the marinade for a minimum of 2 hours.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry coating ingredients. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs. Remove wings from the marinade in the fridge. Coat wings in egg wash and then place in the coating mixture. Toss wings until completely covered, and then place on a baking sheet.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees F. Generously spray wings with cooking spray to coat (avocado oil spray recommended) and place wings in the air fryer. Fry for 15 to 20 minutes, checking wings every 5 minutes or so, turning and spraying as needed. After 15 to 20 minutes, increase temperature to 400 degrees F and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together sauce ingredients and then add cooked wings, tossing until covered. Add cayenne pepper, to taste. Garnish with green onions, if desired.
