The Italian salad dressing is made with olive oil (check out the health benefits of olive oil), red wine vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, dried basil, dried oregano and parsley flakes or dried chives. Put all the gluten-free ingredients into a mason jar with a lid and shake. Shake! Shake! Shake! Don't forget to season with sea salt and black pepper.

Use this salad dressing on salad greens, pasta salads or as a marinade for chicken, beef, lamb, fish or shrimp.

Ingredients

• 1/3 cup olive oil
• 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
• 1 tablespoon honey
• 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
• 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon dried basil
• 1 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1 teaspoon parsley flakes or dried chives

Here's how to make it: 

1. Put all the ingredients into a jar with a lid. Season with sea salt and black pepper, if desired. (If you want to make it a creamy Italian dressing, stir in a little plain yogurt, mayonnaise or sour cream.)
2. Shake! This recipe can easily be doubled. Store the salad dressing in a mason jar, airtight container or salad dressing cruet.
