Ingredients
- 1 jar (11 ounces) maraschino cherries without stems (divided)
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons amaretto liqueur
Here's how to make it:
- Put the cherries into a bowl and reserve the liquid. Slice half of the cherries into quarters. Set aside.
- Put the remaining whole cherries and their juice into a bowl. Add the cream, milk and sugar. Cover and chill the mixture for about 2 hours.
- Add the amaretto to the mixture, then pour it into an ice cream maker. Churn according to manufacturer's directions. Right before the ice cream is done, add the quartered cherries.
