My grandma could cook. She made chicken and dumplings, lemon meringue pie, pecan pie, cookies and fudge, but she also occasionally made chicken wings. Not the most grandma-y thing to make, but these baked teriyaki chicken wings were simple and delicious.

This easy chicken wing recipe from my grandma's recipe box has a teriyaki sauce marinade made with lemon juice, ketchup, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar and garlic. The flavorful wings bake up juicy and crispy. To make these easy baked chicken wings you will need chicken wings, vegetable oil, lemon juice, ketchup, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, garlic and black pepper.

Serve these high-protein teriyaki chicken wings as an appetizer or for dinner with your favorite side dish.

Ingredients

• 3 pounds chicken wings, cut at joint and wing tips removed

Marinade

• 1/4 cup vegetable oil
• 1/3 cup lemon juice
• 1/4 cup ketchup
• 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Here's how to make it:

1. To make the marinade, combine all the ingredients. 
2. Put the chicken into a 13x9-inch baking dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken. Cover and marinate at least 6 hours, turning occasionally. (For the most flavorful chicken, baste occasionally with the sauce as they cook. For easier cleanup, line the roasting or baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil.)
3. Arrange the chicken on a wire rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake in a preheated 375-degree F oven for about 40 minutes, basting occasionally with the marinade, until tender, turning once. (Chicken is cooked through at 165 degrees F on a food thermometer. You could garnish with some healthy sesame seeds.) Store any leftover wings in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
