These cranberry cookies are so good because they combine sweet and tart. Yum! This oatmeal cranberry chocolate chip cookie recipe is perfect for holiday baking. Here are the wholesome ingredients you'll need to gather: butter, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, oats, flour (all-purpose or gluten-free), baking soda, salt, dried cranberries and chocolate chips. You could add some chopped nuts if you like, but those are optional. Plus, you get the health benefits of oats and the health benefits of cranberries, too. 

You can serve this oatmeal cranberry chocolate chip cookie recipe for breakfast, as a sweet snack or add them to your holiday cookie tray. Make enough to share because they make great low-sodium gifts, too.

Ingredients 

• 2/3 cup butter, softened
• 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
• 1 1/2 cups flour (all-purpose or gluten-free flour)
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• dash of salt
• 1 cup dried cranberries
• 2/3 cup chocolate chips

Here's how to make it: 

1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together with an electric mixer. Add the eggs and vanilla. Mix well.
2. In another bowl, combine the oats, flour, baking soda and salt. Whisk to combine. (You can use all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour. Oats are naturally gluten-free, but if you need to be sure, use gluten-free oats.)
3. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Fold in the cranberries and chocolate chips, and the nuts, if using. 
4. Drop by tablespoons full onto baking sheets that have been lined with parchment paper or sprayed with cooking spray. Bake in a preheated 375-degree F oven for about 10 to 12 minutes. Store cookies in an airtight container. (The amount of cookies you get depends upon the size of cookies you form.)
