Halloumi is a semi-hard, unripe cheese made from sheep or goat milk (occasionally it is made from cow's milk). Halloumi is high in protein, calcium and other nutrients. It has a high melting point, so it can be pan seared, fried or grilled. This easy pan-seared halloumi recipe is a delicious appetizer, meat substitute or can be used in salads or buddha bowls. To add more flavor, drizzle with a balsamic reduction or our lemon vinaigrette, rosemary lemon garlic vinaigrette or Greek vinaigrette.

Ingredients
- 1 package (8 ounces) halloumi cheese, cut into slices
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- dried Italian seasoning, dried rosemary or dried thyme (or fresh herbs of your choice)

- Dry the halloumi on paper towels. Brush both sides of the cheese with the olive oil. Season with black pepper and the dried seasoning of choice, to taste.
- Heat a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the cheese and cook until it starts to brown, about 1 to 2 minutes per side.
