I love themed parties, and football get-togethers are no exception. I even created a Pinterest Board entirely dedicated to Super Bowl® recipes! One fun and festive dessert I found was Cocoa Krispies footballs. The sweet football-shaped treats are super easy to make and is a crowd-pleaser.

To make these cereal and marshmallow football treats, simply substitute Cocoa Krispies in the Rice Krispies treats recipe. The basic RKT recipe is:

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package (10 ounces) marshmallows or 5 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies® cereal

To make them, in a large pot over low heat melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from the heat. Add the cereal and stir until coated. Using a buttered spatula, press into a 13x9-inch baking pan. Cool and cut into squares. But for the Cocoa Krispies football treats, you will need to shape the mixture into footballs and decorate.

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes (approximately)

Here's how to make it:

  1. Substitute Cocoa Krispies for regular ones in the Rice Krispies treats recipe.
  2. When the mixture is cool enough to touch, mold into mini footballs.
  3. Pipe white icing onto cooled treats to create laces.
