Mirin & Soy-Glazed Salmon Recipe: This Asian Salmon Recipe Is Ready in Less Than 30 Minutes Seafood Dinner

Healthy salmon fillets get a quick soak in a Asian marinade and then are quickly pan seared. The result is a flavor-packed dinner that's quick and healthy.

Serve this easy salmon recipe with brown rice or rice noodles and wasabi. This fish recipe is great for meal prepping, too.

Cuisine: Asian
Prep Time: 20 minutes to marinate
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Total Time: 28 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar

Here's how to make it:

  1. Combine the mirin, brown sugar, soy sauce and garlic in a plastic zipper bag. Squish to combine. Add the fish and let it marinate about 20 minutes.
  2. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the salmon from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and put into the pan. Cook until a golden color develops, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Flip the fish over, reduce heat to medium and pour in the marinade, water and rice wine vinegar. Cook about 4 to 5 minutes or until fish is cooked through.

Great !! Recipe but it’s for skinless fillets. Your illustration shows skin-on single filet that looks yummy but is something else?
Donna John
Hi, Joan Moreau . You can definitely leave the skin on the salmon if desired. To avoid any further confusion, I have removed the suggestion to remove the skin. I have made it with the skin and without before. Both delicious! Hope this helps and thanks for being part of the community.
