Blueberries are a superfood. The health benefits of blueberries is not the only reason to enjoy this round purple berry. Blueberries can be cooked with in sweet and savory dishes, but also mixed into oatmeal, cereal and smoothies.
To make this farm-to-table recipe you will need the following ingredients: fresh or frozen blueberries, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cornstarch and water.
This easy blueberry sauce recipe can be poured over pancakes or waffles, drizzled on yogurt or ice cream, stuffed into crepes or spooned onto muffins or cheesecake. How about slathered on grilled chicken, lamb, pork or beef or as a dip for meatballs? Delish.

Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh or frozen blueberries (divided)
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Here's how to make it:
- Put half of the blueberries into a saucepot. Add the 1 cup water, sugar and vanilla. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and cook until blueberries start to burst, stirring often.
- Combine the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water. Pour it into the blueberry mixture. Cook for about 1 minute and then add the remaining blueberries. Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to use. Store the sauce covered in the fridge. If you want it warm, heat in the microwave.
