If you have no discipline when a platter of brownies is around, then this easy mug brownie recipe is for you! It's the perfect chocolate dessert for one and when you're trying to eat healthier or practice portion control. You won't have the temptation of grabbing another brownie if you just make enough for one.

This easy mug cake brownie recipe is delicious topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream – or nothing at all. (And you can make more than one, we won't tell!) Let the kids make their own for a fun family activity after dinner.

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 1 to 1 1/2 minutes plus 3 minutes to rest
Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • dash of salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla

Here's how to make it:

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder and salt in a mug. Mix well.

  3. Add the milk and vanilla. Stir to combine.
  4. Microwave on high for about 1 minute. Check and continue cooking in 10-second intervals until almost set.

This is a genius idea, especially because I love fresh-baked brownies and not so much after they've been sitting around a while. What a great way to get that "fresh-baked" flavor anytime! #yum

The only problem with that "no discipline with a plate of brownies"---I have lots of mugs..... :-)

Bahaha, Melissa Vickers ! Me, too. Brownies are my weakness, so this recipe is dangerous, no matter the amount. LOL! Donna John
