Creamy Avocado Salad Dressing Recipe: What to Drizzle on Salads, Tacos, Vegetables & More Salads Sauces/Condiments

Avocado has found its way into so many recipes, so why not salad dressing? With avocado, olive oil, yogurt, lemon juice and garlic, this easy avocado salad dressing recipe will give your salads a little attitude.

Experiment with the optional add-ins for this recipe. Chopped parsley or cilantro adds even more freshness, minced jalapeno or serrano pepper a pop of heat, and poblano serves up extra flavor. Use this creamy avocado salad dressing recipe over salad greens, as a sandwich spread, dip for tortilla chips or vegetables, or drizzle it over Spanish rice, taco salads, tacos or Mexican bowls.

Store the leftover salad dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.

Ingredients

• 1 ripe avocado
• 6 tablespoons olive oil
• 6 tablespoons Greek yogurt
• 3 teaspoons lemon or lime juice
• 2 cloves garlic
• 2 - 3 tablespoons water (or more, if needed)

Optional Add-ins

• chopped parsley
• minced jalapeno
• minced serrano
• minced poblano pepper
• fresh chopped cilantro

Here's how to make it:

1. Put al the ingredients except the water into a blender. Pulse until smooth.
2. Add water until it reaches a pourable consistency. Season with salt and pepper. Add more lemon juice, if needed. 
3. If using an add-in, stir it in now.
