Jack Skellington Cake Recipe: The Easiest Halloween Cake for "The Nightmare Before Christmas" Fans Holidays Cakes/Cupcakes

Who doesn’t recognize the face of Jack Skellington, the infamous main character in Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas? If you want to make a Jack Skellington cake for Halloween or another themed party but think it’ll take pounds of fondant, buttercream icing and wine (to calm your nerves), think again! This cake starts with a boxed cake mix and the face is simply powdered sugar. To help with the face, either draw a pattern and then cut it out, or you can find a Jack Skellington printable face template online.

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 20 to 25 minutes

Total Time: 25 to 30 minutes

Ingredients

Here's how to make it:

  1. Bake the cake mix according to package directions for a round cake. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Lay your printed out or drawn template on top of the cake.
  3. Sift the powdered sugar over the template.
  4. Carefully remove the template to keep any sugar from falling on other parts of the cake.
