You only need three ingredients to make this budget recipe. Here is your short shopping list for this delicious homemade snack recipe: a box of saltine crackers, dry ranch seasoning and canola oil (no substitutions!). For some spice, I like to add the optional ground cayenne pepper.
The oil and dry ranch seasoning are mixed together and poured over the dry crackers that you've stacked in a large jar. Let the crackers sit overnight, and in the morning you will be pleasantly surprised at home crisp and yummy these crackers are. Experience with different ranch dressing flavors and seasonings, and be sure to let the kids help stack the crackers and shake the jar.

- 16 ounces (1 box) saltine crackers
- 1 ounce (1 packet) dry ranch dressing mix
- 1 cup canola oil (no substitutes)
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, but recommended)
Here's how to make it:
- Arrange the crackers in the jar standing up.
- Combine the canola oil, ranch dressing mix and cayenne. Mix well.
- Pour over the crackers. Tilt the jar around as you pour to make sure to get in all the cracks and crevices.
- Put on the lid. Allow the crackers to sit at least 24 hours, shaking and rotating the jar on and off, until oil is absorbed.
