- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 ounce (1 packet) taco seasoning
- 14 ounces (1 can) pinto beans or black beans (do not drain)
- 14 ounces (1 can) diced fire-roasted tomatoes (do not drain)
Optional Toppings
- corn chips or tortilla chips
- sour cream
- fresh cilantro
- grated cheese
- avocado or guacamole
- green onions, chopped
- fresh or pickled jalapenos
Here's how to make it:
- Cook the ground turkey and onion in a saucepot or dutch oven until turkey is cooked through.
- Add all the remaining ingredients. (You could add some fresh cilantro now, if desired.)
- Stir and simmer until hot and bubbly. (If you have time, simmer on low for a bit longer. The chili is delicious right away, but even better if it simmers a bit.)
- Ladle into bowls. Top with your favorite chili or taco toppings.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the microwave.
