Sometimes a recipe just hits you hard, and you have to make it ASAP. This air fryer breakfast taco recipe was one I made because I could not resist. The breakfast recipe had me at under 10 minutes and being about $1 to make. The high-protein budget recipe put a huge smile on my face and will be made over and over again in my air fryer. Delish.
The basic pizza or breakfast taco recipe only requires three simple ingredients: a flour tortilla, an egg (check out the health benefits of eggs) and cheese (your favorite sliced or grated cheese). The taco is built right in the air fryer basket and cooks up in about six minutes, depending on how you like your eggs. Fold it over for a hand-held taco or keep it flat for a delicious breakfast pizza.
But go beyond basic and make this breakfast recipe your own by customizing with fun ingredients like leftover taco meat, shredded brisket, bacon, breakfast sausage, ham, fresh herbs, chopped vegetables or whatever you like. Sauce it up with hot sauce, bechamel (with Canadian bacon it would be like Eggs Benedict), barbecue sauce or taco sauce.

Ingredients
- 1 flour tortilla
- 1 egg
- cheese, grated or sliced
Optional Ingredients
- bacon, sausage, ham, Canadian bacon, etc.
- fresh jalapenos or pickled jalapenos
- hot sauce, taco sauce, barbecue sauce, etc.
- fresh herbs
- leftover taco meat, brisket, ground beef, etc.
- dry seasonings (taco seasoning, Old Bay Seasoning, Mediterranean seasoning, etc.)
Here's how to make it:
- Put the flour tortilla into the air fryer. Build a wall with the cheese and other ingredients you've decided to use. Crack the egg in the center. (I like to add any wet ingredients like hot sauce after cooking.) Season with salt and black pepper, if desired. (If you like your egg yolk cooked more, gently pop it open with a fork or knife before cooking.)
- Place in the air fryer.
- Air fry at 360 degrees F for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the egg is set to your desired doneness.
- Remove from the air fryer. Add any additional ingredients.
- Fold over and enjoy as a taco or eat it flat as a pizza.
