While traditional alfredo sauce is made simply with butter and Parmesan cheese (and sometimes heavy cream), this decadent Italian-inspired alfredo sauce recipe includes garlic and oregano for added flavor. It's flexible enough that you could add other Italian herbs, or even crushed red pepper flakes, to suit your tastes. Plus, Parmesan cheese is packed with protein (up to 10 grams of protein per one-ounce serving)!
To make this easy, delicious alfredo sauce recipe, you'll need to gather the following ingredients: butter, heavy whipping cream, freshly grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic and dried oregano. Feel free to add salt and pepper, to taste. The ingredients are cooked on the stovetop until combined and creamy. Amazingly quick for such a delicious dish!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 2 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 3/4 teaspoon oregano
- 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper, to taste (optional)
Here's how to make it:
- In a large skillet over medium-low heat, add the butter and heavy cream. Simmer until butter melts and is incorporated into the cream, about 2 minutes.
- Add the garlic and oregano. Add salt and pepper, to taste, if desired. Stir to combine.
- Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted. Remove from heat.
- Serve immediately. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired. Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the fridge.
