Real Fruit & Cream Homemade Ice Pops Recipe Is Mom's BFF (3 Ingredients) by Heather Holter

Real Fruit & Cream Homemade Ice Pops Recipe Is Mom's BFF (3 Ingredients)

I made these homemade fruit ice pops in 10 minutes for my kids and they were gone in a day. The frozen ice pop recipe is very easy and a way to get kids to eat more fruit. (Shh! The fruit is hidden in the creamy ice pops!)

You only need three ingredients to make these creamy fruit snacks. Here is your short and sweet shopping list: a box of strawberry gelatin (or whatever flavor you enjoy), fresh or frozen strawberries (or fruit to match the gelatin flavor you choose) and heavy cream. You'll need some boiling water, too, to dissolve the gelatin.

You can change the gelatin flavor and fruit for more variety. Serve these homemade ice pops as a sweet snack or for dessert after dinner. Get ready to make this recipe over and over and over again.

Recipe Notes

  • An easy way to boil the water is in a glass measuring cup in the microwave.
  • I used Jell-O, but any brand gelatin will work.
  • Try this recipe with mango, raspberries, blueberries, kiwi, watermelon or pineapple.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Partially thaw frozen strawberries for about half an hour. Sliced strawberries work better than whole. If using fresh slice them into quarters.
  2. Dissolve gelatin completely in the boiling water.
  3. Add just a few strawberries and stir until the gelatin seems cool. Don't stop stirring this or it will start to set up. You don't want it to set up. Add the rest of the strawberries. If using frozen they should be soft but not completely thawed. Stir until thawed and easy to pierce with a fork.
  4. Add heavy cream and stir.
  5. When stirred and blended well beat with an electric mixer about 1 to 2 minutes. You don't want any big chunks left, but it's fine to have small bits of fruit in the mixture. You can also use a blender if you wish.
  6. Pour into ice pop molds. Let the ice pops set for 2 to 4 hours. Check after 2 hours to see if they are completely frozen. Enjoy!
