This easy meatloaf is simple enough for a Monday night but is right at home being served for company.
To make the meatloaf you'll need ground beef, an onion, an egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, ground mustard and breadcrumbs. Mix up all the ingredients, shape into a loaf and bake. While the meatloaf bakes, make the red wine onion gravy. For the gravy you'll need a red onion, butter, beef broth, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, raspberry jam and flour.
Serve this winning ground beef meatloaf for dinner with your favorite side dishes. Mashed potatoes are almost a must because of the rich gravy. The gravy adds a bit of fancy to this no-frills meatloaf. Delish!

Ingredients
Meatloaf
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Red Wine Onion Gravy
- 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
- 1 red onion, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/3 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon seedless raspberry jam
Recipe Notes
- For even more flavor in the gravy, stir in some of the meatloaf pan drippings.
- Choose a dry red wine, nothing too sweet.
- You can make the gravy the day before and reheat in a saucepot.
Here's how to make it:
- To make the meatloaf, combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Season well with salt and pepper. Form into a loaf and place it in a loaf pan. Bake in a preheated 375-degree F oven for about 1 hour or until cooked through.
- To make the red wine onion gravy, melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in a skillet. Add the onions and cook until caramelized, stirring often, about 20 to 30 minutes.
- Add the remaining butter and flour. Stir until combined.
- Add the wine, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce and jam. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer over low heat until it thickens to desired consistency. Serve over the meatloaf.
