Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes plus 2 hours to marinate
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours and 55 minutes
Servings: 8
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wing sections (drumettes and flats)
- 1 1/2 cups dill pickle juice (from a jar of dill pickles)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
- 1/2 teaspoon dried chives
Here's how to make it:
- Put the chicken wings into a plastic zipper food storage bag or shallow dish. Pour the pickle juice over, cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- When ready to cook, drain the chicken wings (discard the pickle juice). Pat the wings dry and drizzle with the olive oil. Season with salt and black pepper, to taste, and garlic powder, onion powder, parsley flakes, dried dill and dried chives. Toss to coat and put onto an oiled baking sheet in a single layer. (Adjust the spices to suit your family's tastes. You could add some ground cayenne or crushed red pepper flakes for a little spice.)
- Bake the chicken wings in a preheated 425-degree F oven for about 40 to 45 minutes, turning halfway through cooking time, until crispy and cooked through. Store any leftover wings in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave of pop them in a warm oven.
