Cottage cheese has gotten a makeover from when our grandparents ate it with pears or pineapple on top. (Remember that?) Because cottage cheese is relatively low in carbs, many who are on the keto diet or another low-carb eating plan are including it in their diets. But what if you're not a fan of cottage cheese? Well, do we have a recipe for you!
This chocolate whipped cottage cheese recipe is a high-protein, low-calorie dessert recipe that's super simple to make. Cottage cheese, unsweetened cocoa powder and a sugar substitute like granulated monk fruit or stevia is pureed until smooth in a blender. That's it. Dessert or breakfast is ready. Check out the health benefits of protein.
Not only is cottage cheese an excellent source of protein, it is loaded with nutrients like B vitamins, calcium, phosphorus and selenium. (Read about the health benefits of cottage cheese.) Cottage cheese may even help prevent certain cancers and help regulate blood pressure.
Serve this creamy whipped chocolate cottage cheese for dessert or a sweet keto-friendly snack. For even more nutrition, I sometimes add chia seeds to the top. Delish. I bet no one will know that this whipped chocolate snack is made with cottage cheese. Try it and see.
