The famous Neiman Marcus dip recipe originated at the department store's flagship restaurant in Dallas, The Zodiac Room. "The dip first hit tables in 1953 thanks to Neiman Marcus’s Director of Food Services, Helen Corbitt, who developed the recipe," according to an article on America's Test Kitchen.
The legendary, cheesy cold dip is now also called crack dip and million dollar dip, though I prefer the original name. Whatever you call it, this easy gluten-free party dip recipe is sure to be the first dip to get eaten at your get-togethers.
Here is your shopping list for the high-protein NM dip recipe: bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, sliced or slivered almonds and green onions. Simple mix all the ingredients together and let it chill out in the fridge for the flavors to meld.
Cooking Tip: For less mess, here's how to cook bacon in the microwave.
Serve this cheese and bacon dip with crackers, tortilla chips, potato chips, corn chips or fresh cut-up vegetables like celery, carrots, red peppers, broccoli, sugar snap peas or cherry tomatoes.

- 1/3 cup sliced or slivered almonds, toasted
- 4 green onions, sliced
Here's how to make it:
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Mix well. (You could use mozzarella, provolone, Swiss of your favorite cheese instead of cheddar. For some spice, I like to add a few shakes of hot sauce.)
