This creamy baked yogurt lemon chicken recipe has just six simple ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen. Here are the gluten-free ingredients you need to grab from the pantry and fridge: bone-in chicken (we used leg quarters), plain Greek yogurt (check out the health benefits of Greek yogurt), lemons for juicing, olive oil, garlic powder and onion powder. The chicken is coated in the ingredients, marinated for as long as you have time to, and then baked until cooked through, moist and juicy.
Serve this chicken dinner with your favorite side dishes. We like to add a grain or potato to soak up the marinade that turns into a delicious sauce. Add a fresh vegetable or a salad and you have a complete meal the whole family will devour.

Ingredients
- 4 - 6 chicken leg quarters
- 5.3 ounces (1 container) plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (or to taste)
Recipe Notes
- For some color, sprinkle the chicken with some parsley flakes or fresh chopped parsley.
- You could add your favorite seasoning to this recipe like Mediterranean, Greek, dried Italian herbs or seasoned salt.
- You could add some lemon zest for even more lemon flavor.
- Want even more sauce? Stir in some chicken broth at the end of cooking.
- You could use boneless chicken for this recipe, just reduce the cooking time.
Here's how to make it:
- Combine the yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, onion powder and garlic powder in a mixing bowl. Add the chicken and toss to coat. Marinate for 30 minutes or up to overnight.
- When ready to cook, put the chicken and marinade into a baking dish, skin side up. Season with salt and black pepper, to taste. Bake in a preheated 425-degree F oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through (165 degrees F internal temperature).
