In about 30 minutes you can have a whole haunted house full of adorable ghosts! This easy Halloween ghost cupcake recipe is so easy to make, you could get the kids to make them while you sit and color free printable Halloween coloring pages. Sounds like a plan, right?
To make these Halloween cupcakes you will a box of chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients to make it), tubs of whipped vanilla frosting and mini chocolate chips. Bake the cupcakes according to package directions and let them cool completely. Mound the frosting on top to create a ghost, and give him or her two chocolate chip eyes. So easy!

Ingredients
- 15 ounces (1 box) chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients to make it
- 22 ounces (2 tubs) whipped vanilla frosting
- mini chocolate chips
Here's how to make it:
- Bake the cake mix according to package directions for cupcakes. Cool completely. (Be sure to let the cupcakes cool completely before decorating, or you will have a deflated ghost. To speed up the process, pop them into the fridge or freezer.)
- Using a spoon or piping bag, make mounds of icing on top of the cupcakes to create the ghosts.
- Add two mini chocolate chips for eyes. (You could add other Halloween embellishments to the cupcakes.) Store the cupcakes in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
