A lot of pre-made pancake syrups contain corn syrup. According to Cleveland Clinic, "High fructose corn syrup has crept into more of our foods over the last few decades. Compared with regular sugar, it's cheaper and sweeter, and is more quickly absorbed into your body. But eating too much high fructose corn syrup can lead to insulin resistance, obesity, Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure." Who wants that?
This easy homemade pancake syrup takes five minutes to make and has only three simple ingredients, plus some water. Need we say more? Breakfast bliss in no time! All you need to make this sweet homemade pancake syrup recipe is brown sugar, water, butter and vanilla. The simple ingredients cook up quickly on the stovetop. Such a simple way to add a special sauce to breakfast or brunch!
Cooking Tip: Use this homemade pancake syrup in recipes calling for syrup or honey.
Drizzle this sweet syrup over pancakes, waffles, biscuits, toast, English muffins, french toast or your favorite breakfast foods.
