Quick 3-Ingredient British Mushy Peas Recipe Like You'd Find in a Pub

If you order fish and chips in England or at a British restaurant in the U.S., most likely you will be asked if you want the mushy peas. Always say yes!

This easy mushy peas recipe not only goes well with fried fish and french fries, but any protein. They're so easy to make, too.

Cuisine: British
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 6 to 8

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (10 ounces) frozen peas
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Here's how to make it:

  1. Cook the peas until tender in boiling, salted water, about 4 to 5 minutes. Drain.
  2. Put the peas into a blender or food processor. Add the cream and butter. Season with salt and pepper. Pulse until almost smooth, leaving some pea pieces.
