If you start with frozen meatballs, this shortcut meatball sandwich recipe is ready in about 15 minutes. Fabulous!
This high-protein meatball sandwich is the perfect filling meal for sandwich night anytime, or when watching sports with friends and family. Here is your short shopping list: frozen meatballs, marinara sauce, provolone or mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese and hoagie rolls.
Frozen meatballs are mixed with marinara sauce (or your favorite pasta sauce) and then piled onto hoagie rolls. After topping the saucy meatballs with cheese, they are baked in the oven until hot and melty. You don't have to use frozen meatballs for this meatball sandwich recipe. If you have a favorite homemade meatball recipe, that would make the sandwich even better!
Variation: Try this sandwich recipe with ground turkey or chicken meatballs.
You don't really need a side dish with these hearty meatball sandwiches. But you could serve them with slaw, potato salad or caprese salad. No one would mind.
