This Gingersnaps Cookie Recipe Has Gingerbread Men Shaking in Their Boots

Move over, gingerbread men. These sweet, spicy homemade gingersnaps just taste like the holidays. Serve with a cup of chai tea and you'll be in spice heaven. Relax, gingerbread men, we still love ya.

You’ll need:

Here’s how to make them:

  1. Beat the brown sugar, shortening, molasses, egg, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg and salt with an electric mixer.
  2. Combine the flour and baking soda. Add it to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  3. Shape dough into balls and dip into the granulated sugar. Place on cookie sheets that have been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
  4. Bake in a preheated 375-degree F oven for about 10-11 minutes.
