Aperol Spritz Cocktail Recipe: Close Your Eyes & You're in Italy

My first sip of an Aperol spritz was surreal. Why? Because I was sitting by Lake Maggiore watching the sunset over the mountains in Stresa, Italy. Could there be a better place to first experience this Italian apéritif? Here's a simple recipe for an Aperol spritz that you can try at home.

You'll need:

  • 1/4 cup Aperol
  • 1/2 cup prosecco
  • 1 slice orange or blood orange
  • ice

Here's how to make it:

  1. Pour the Aperol into a glass. Add ice.
  2. Pour in the prosecco.
  3. Garnish with the orange slice. Makes one drink.
