Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes
Servings: 16 (makes 2 loaves)
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour (all-purpose or gluten-free)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 5 - 6 overripe bananas, mashed
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, walnuts or your favorite)
Here's how you make it:
- Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl. (For gluten-free banana bread use gluten-free flour.)
- Combine the rest of the ingredients in another bowl.
- Mix wet and dry ingredients together.
- Pour into two greased and floured 9x5-inch loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees F about 30 minutes. (I like to slightly under bake my bread. Just where it's a tiny bit moist in the center on the top. Before it's completely cool, I cover with plastic wrap. This makes the top of the bread ooey gooey and super moist.) Store the banana bread in an airtight container.
