Brown sugar and cinnamon is a classic flavor combination most of us love. This brown sugar cinnamon brownies recipe is crazy moist, ooey, gooey and full of brown sugar and cinnamon flavor. Delicious!
Here is your short shopping list for this cinnamon brown sugar brownie recipe: all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, dark brown sugar, eggs, pecans (read about the health benefits of pecans), butter, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon (cinnamon has health benefits). Because the batter is so loose and has to cool before setting up, I'm not sure about using gluten-free flour. I would have to give that ingredient swap a try before recommending it.
Cooking Note: These brownies have to cool quite a while. You cannot cut them hot or even warm because the filling sets up as it cools. Patience is a virtue with this recipe, but well worth it!
These moist homemade brownies are a delicious dessert after dinner, a sweet snack during the day or even delicious nibbled on over a cup of tea or coffee in the morning for breakfast.

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups dark brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Here's how to make it:
- Spray the bottom of an 8x8-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Line the pan with a piece of parchment paper that comes up the sides of the pan. Spray the parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray. (This will help you lift the baked bars out of the pan later.)
- Put the flour, baking soda, baking powder, brown sugar and pecans into the bowl of a stand mixer, or into a mixing bowl if you have a hand-held electric mixer.
- Mix until everything is combined well.
- Add the eggs.
- Blend until everything is thoroughly combined.
- Add the melted butter, vanilla and ground cinnamon.
- Beat until the batter is combined and all of the butter incorporated into the batter. This will take about 2 to 3 minutes. (If you don't get the butter fully incorporated before baking, you will get dark brown edges around the brownies, like shown in step 9. Simply cut that part off after cooling. Don't throw it away! It tastes amazing.)
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan. (If you'd like, sprinkle the top with more cinnamon.)
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for 35 to 38 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan for about 20 minutes, then remove by lifting the parchment paper and sitting them on the counter to cool completely.
- Once cooled, cut into bars. Do not cut the bars until completely cooled! Store the brownies in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
