McDonald's Big Mac has special secret sauce, Shake Shack has their ShackSauce, Culver's has their signature sauce, Whataburger has their signature creamy pepper sauce and In-N-Out Burger has that iconic "spread" on their burgers and also for anything "animal style." This copycat recipe for In-N-Out Burger's spread will let you turn your burgers and fries into animals at home!
To make this easy copycat burger sauce recipe you only need five simple ingredients. Here's what to grab from your pantry and fridge: mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, white vinegar and sweet pickle relish. The ingredients are stirred together, seasoned with a dash of salt and black pepper and popped into the fridge to get to know each other. So easy!
Put this creamy sauce on burgers or use as a topping or dipping sauce for french fries, tater tots, onion rings or anything you like to dip and dunk.

- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
Here's how to make it:
- Whisk all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Add a dash of salt and black pepper (or to taste). (Don't like sweet pickle relish? Try this recipe with dill relish instead.)
- Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. (Refrigerating at least 30 minutes helps the flavors blend together.) Keep the sauce in an airtight container in the fridge.
