Shhh, Let's Visit New England: Experience the Quiet Corner of Connecticut U.S. Travel

If your summer travels take you into the New England area, take a stroll over to Northeast Connecticut, known as the Quiet Corner. Walk, hike, bike ride, paddle, eat or sip and explore all that the Last Green Valley has to offer. The small-town feel of the Quiet Corner will step you back in time.

Downtown Putnam invites you to experience a “vintage feel with modern appeal.” Putnam houses exceptional restaurants, bars, cafes, art galleries, boutiques, theaters and much more!

On historic route 169 in Pomfret, stop at the Vanilla Bean Café, located in a restored, early 19th-century barn, for house-made soups, sandwiches and light dinners.

While in Pomfret, experience the award-winning winery, Sharpe Hill Vineyard. Take a stroll around the organic gardens and vast rows of grapevines that surround the picturesque restaurant, tasting room and garden.

Looking for a sweet treat? Try the delectable farm-fresh ice cream at We-Li-Kit scooped into a made-to-order waffle cone.

Take a tour of a formal parterre garden, an icehouse, garden house, carriage barn and the oldest surviving indoor bowling alley at the historic Roseland Cottage Museum in Woodstock.
