Induced Delivery With No Epidural & a Very Short Labor!

After a visit with my doctor, I was told I was 2 cm dilated and 80 percent effaced. I had the choice to be induced or wait it out until my due date, March 18, 2017. I chose the option to get induced the 15th so I could have my son the 16th.

On the 15th at 4:30 p.m., they inserted the balloon in me and blew it up with water, which I was told would dilate me to 3-4 cm. The doctor would come the next morning at 6:30 to induce me. At 2:00 a.m., my balloon fell out. I thought nothing of it, so I went back to sleep.

At 4:30, I started having bad contractions and went into labor. My son was finally born at 5:48 after an hour and 18 minutes of labor and no epidural. My labor was so fast that my mom almost missed it and the nurse almost had to deliver my son. He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces.
