"Twenty years of after. A lifetime, really. And I guess there’s always hope that we will learn from our mistakes and finally make our after better than before." YES. You are so right, and I love this, Carrie Watts . I always think of you and your story on the anniversary of 9/11. And I have written my own thoughts on this as well (this week's Editor's Letter will be published soon, I'll tag you). Thank you for sharing this powerful reflection with us. Sending you hugs!

So hard to believe it's been 20 years. I'm still grieving for 9/11 and now also for the situation in Afghanistan.

I remember so clearly, my husband was driving for a Limo company in CT and I was home. A friend called and said put on the tv and told me about the twin towers. Then my husband called and said he was dropping someone off at Newark, NJ airport and was able to cross the George Washington Bridge before they closed it for traffic. Then my oldest son asked where dad was and I told him he was in CT and ok. Then my youngest son from NC called and asked where dad was. I told him he crossed the George Washington Bridge before they closed off traffic. It was a scary day But was very thankful that my husband was able to be in CT (where we lived) before they closed the traffic . On this, upcoming Anniversary of 9/11, my prayers go out to all to stay safe.
