Reflections On International Women’s Day: Words of Gratitude for Women Who Have Built Me Up Relationships Motherhood Become the Fire
“You can always tell who the strong women are. They are the ones you see building one another up, instead of tearing each other down.”
As I reflect on an inspiring International Women’s Day, I am feeling grateful for all the women who have built me up. I am grateful for those who have encouraged me to “speak [my] mind, even if [my] voice shakes” (Maggie Kuhn). I’d like to thank the many women, from family and friends to teachers and mentors, who have modeled for me what it is to be a compassionate, independent, positive, empowered woman.
Beyond thanking the women in our lives, the best way I know how to show gratitude is to pay it forward, to extend a hand to other women. A circle of women is a powerful force. Be grateful for the women in your circle, and invite other women to join you!
