Jack 'O Lantern Hack! 3 Steps to Add a Little Longevity to Your Pumpkin! by Margaret Steck
Holidays
October 12, 2015
The moment you first cut into a pumpkin, it begins to deteriorate. Here’s a quick way to slow down that process:
- Before you begin carving, scrape as much of the inside out as you possibly can. The more you scrape out, the longer it will last.
- You want to make the inside as dry as possible.
- Next, dab a little lemon juice and water to the cut edges followed by petroleum jelly or vegetable oil, which will work as a temporary sealant!
This works for us, hope it works for you, too. Have a happy Halloween!
