Best Books of 2022: Book Lovers Share Their Favorite Reads This Year (Did Yours Make the List?) Books
At this time of year, you’re likely seeing “best of” lists from a variety of sources on a variety of topics. My favorites are always the book lists. I like to see if any of my favorites made the cut. I also find it interesting to see which, if any, books make it onto both the bestsellers list and a "best books" list. I’d love to share some favorite books with you, both from Goodreads and from some of our 30Seconds contributors.
The New York Times put out a list of The 10 Best Books of 2022. Interestingly, none of their best books made it to the bestsellers list in 2022. It’s also interesting to note that four of Colleen Hoover’s books made the cut! It’s clear that the annual best book lists, particularly at the NY Times, tend to favor literary fiction, a category that seldom makes the bestseller list.
If you’re a reader who prefers to take book recommendations from regular folks as opposed to editors, then you’re in luck. Below you’ll find the results of the 2022 Goodreads Choice Award Winners. They were chosen entirely by readers who chose to vote at Goodreads.
I also interviewed some of our 30Seconds contributors to find out their favorite books of 2022. (Note that some of these may not have been released in 2022, but rather were read this year.) As for me, it’s always hard to narrow down my list (especially for fiction this year), but if I must, I've included a “best of” list for you. I’ve also shared a portion of my TBR (to be read) list with you. You'll find all of these books in the list below.
We’d love to hear your favorite books of 2022. Please comment below and let us know!
Here’s to many more “Good Reads” in 2023!
