When I sit down to dinner with my girls, I don't want to hear that school, swim practice and the spelling test were "fine." Call me nosy (I can take it), but I want details! How to eke more out of my tired, often reluctant kiddos?
We play "High-Low-Better." Each of us goes around the table and identifies the best part of the day, the worst part and something they'd like to do better tomorrow. Mom goes first. It's a great way to start conversations and stay connected. It gives the girls an additional way to communicate. My favorite? When they claim the best part of their day is "right now!"
