Dryer Sheet Alternatives: How to Make DIY Dryer Sheets & Save Money DIY

Like many of us, you likely go through a lot of laundry. Dryer sheets that reduce static on clothes can get very expensive. Here’s a simple trick to save money.

You'll need:

  • washcloth
  • 1 jug liquid fabric softener

Here's how to do it:

  1. Wet the washcloth.
  2. Wring the washcloth out so it’s not dripping.
  3. Put a small amount (approximately a quarter capful or so) of liquid fabric softener onto the washcloth.
  4. Throw it into the dryer with your wet clothes.

Voila! The same results as a fabric softener sheet at a fraction of the price.

Great idea, Samantha Kemp-Jackson ! I will sometimes throw a wet washcloth into the dryer to unwrinkle clothes. Never thought to put fabric softener on it. Definitely going to try this!
