From Wedded Bliss to Mindful Marriage: 4 Simple Ways to Transition From Quarantine to Matrimony Relationships

Due to the pandemic, 80 percent of couples canceled or postponed their wedding – and then had to work and live in the same space all year. It was not the kind of intimacy they expected in lieu of a year of wedded bliss! Now that couples are putting weddings back on their schedules, here are some tips to transition from quarantine to matrimony in the most mindful manner:

  1. Practice Loving Kindness. Loving Kindness, or Metta meditation, is the practice of opening your heart and focusing on the good in yourself and others by using a silent mantra.
  2. Write down three things you are grateful for about your partner. Take a few minutes to turn your mindful attention to all that is amazing about your partner.
  3. Listen to a guided meditation together. This mindful time is beneficial for easing into the evening together.
  4. Do things together that bring each of you joy. Make a list of your simple joys and choose one to do together every day, or pick a weekend to do a few at once!
