Mad Libs: How These Fun Interactive Books Teach Kids Parts of Speech Books School/Education

Growing up, Mad Libs has always been a family favorite. I'm the daughter of an English teacher, so writing has been part of some of our traditions. Prior to cellphones, Mad Libs kept us busy on road trips traveling cross country in the family station wagon. 

Now, with a family of my own and new to homeschooling, we have rediscovered the joys of this simple word game. The added bonus? Mad Libs has taught my kindergartner parts of speech such as nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. I was just excited to receive this pad of word games as a gift and introduce the game to my girls. 

The Mad Libs website offers free printables, hall passes, party invitations and valentines. It also tells the funny history of how Mad Libs was created in 1958. 

Little did I know that my 6-year-old was absorbing newly learned parts of speech with these fun, interactive books!
