Right in My Own Backyard: A Fun Poem About Opening Your Eyes to the Beauty of Nature Poems

Right in My Own Backyard!

I thought it was time
To find a new friend,
One that was feathered,
But that would depend.

So, I took out the bird feeder
And filled it with seed,
I knew this new "condo"
Would attract a new breed.

I looked out the window,
Heard a humming noise,
Amid all the fussing,
Was one bird’s "poise."

Approaching the feeder,
I saw him flapping a wing,
But the question remained,
“Could this bird really sing?”

I’ve named him Solo
He chirps like a dream.
This lovely bird is
My "flying sunbeam!”
