Switch Witch: My Trick to Help Manage the Halloween Candy Chaos Holidays

Cavities have broken the bank more than once in this household. The kids still love to trick-or-treat around the neighborhood, but the aftermath of sugars and dyes are more than this mama can take. We play "Switch Witch" after all the candy is collected. Here's what we do:

  • The girls get to pick a few of their favorite treats for their lunchboxes.
  • They trade the rest of their fall haul for a desired toy or gift card.

Last year they split a dozen Hatchimals, and this year they are hinting at PopSockets. Everyone wins! We don't shell out cash for cavities and the girls get a special something on their wish list.
