Moms, Follow Your Dreams & Goals (After Getting the Kids on the School Bus!) Motherhood

After 10 years of having my babies home with me every day, my youngest child just started kindergarten, so I have an empty nest! I work nights, so after I go back to sleep for a bit after the kids get on the bus I have spare time like I haven't known since before becoming a mom. I know that there are a lot of other moms in similar situations, so I have been brainstorming some ideas to fill those days sharing love with your community:

  • I have volunteered for room mom for my son's class, which I have never had time for because of my daughter being home with me.
  • I signed up to go and read to my daughter's kindergarten class, and to go in and help with the classroom.
  • I contacted local animal shelters to see if they need volunteers to help with the animals during the week. We have two rescued animals that we love dearly, and I would love to help animals that are in the same position that our babies were in before adoption.
  • I have also decided to go back to school and follow my dreams to be an elementary school teacher.

I feel that it is finally time for me to pursue my own life goals – at least until my children get off of the bus!
