How to Make Fun DIY Bark Boats With Your Kids by Katie Lewis

Bark boats are a free summer learning activity to do with kids.

You'll need:

• bark
• corks
• glue gun
• fishing line
• eye hook
• thumb tack
• twig
• fabric (for sail)

Here's how to make it: 

1. Gather your bark from a living tree. 
2. Glue corks together and add eye hook. Cut and glue sail to the twig. 
3. Glue your bark to the corks. Poke a hole in your bark and glue in your sail. 
4. Get a long piece of fishing line and tie to your eye hook. Tie the other end to a thumbtack and attach a cork. Wrap the line around your cork to keep from getting it tangled. 

Head to the water and sail!
