Water Gun Fights: Build Fine Motor Skills With This Fun Summertime Activity

Summer is the perfect season to make playtime also a time of growth for kids. Turn summertime into learning time! Don't spend money on handwriting books to improve fine motor skills when you can increase small muscle strength by planning fun activities instead!

Buy water guns and toys and have an outside water battle! Pulling the trigger over and over will work the same muscles kids need for writing. For a fun variation, put a few drops of food coloring on a white paper plate, hang it on a tree and let them have target practice! Have refreshing fun and be creative all at once!

Great idea, Tonya Hayes! Kids won't even know they're working on motor skills. Carrie Wells has a similar idea with Play-Doh: mom: Fine Motor Skills Development: Here's a Fun Way to Improve Your Child's Fine Motor Skills

How fun is this? Nothing like a good old-fashioned water fight, LOL! Thanks for the tip, and can't wait to see more from you, Tonya Hayes ! xoxo
