Mardi Gras Crafts for Kids: How to Make a Mardi Gras Shoebox Float

Mardi Gras may have been canceled this year because of the coronavirus pandemic, but that doesn't mean you can't celebrate it. With just a shoebox or other cardboard box, kids can make their own DIY Mardi Gras float craft project.

You'll need:

Here's how to make it:

  1. Cut construction paper or fabric to cover the box. Let your child get creative, but typical Mardi Gras colors are purple, green and gold.
  2. Glue on the construction paper or fabric. Allow to dry.
  3. Using desired embellishments, let your kids go wild and create a float that's as unique as they are.
