Giving Back While Abroad: How to Seek Out a Charity When Traveling

When I travel I love to do what I can to give back. Recently, when I was in Prague, I noticed there was a walking tour donating 100 percent of their proceeds to a local children’s charity. Normally I do not take tours, but I was really intrigued by the opportunity to learn about Prague and support a local charity. It turned out to be an excellent experience and one I would highly recommend.

Groups around the world are offering these types of tours. Some of the tour companies have a set fee and others allow you to pay what you feel is appropriate. The charities they support vary.

I found our charity tour on Airbnb Experiences, but an Internet search also offered options for different cities around the world. Everyone in our group felt really great for giving back to the community we were in and taking an educational tour from a very professional guide.
